At the Professional Practitioner Intersection with Academic Research

Left to right: Dato' Captain Razali Yaacob, Dr Kassim Noor Mohamed, Dr Mike Sutton, Dr Claire de Motte, Dr Irene Zempi

On April 10th 2017 Dato' Captain Razali Yaacob - Chairman of the Netherlands Maritime Institute of Technology (NMIT) spent some time talking with me, and with some of my fellow academic colleagues from Nottingham Trent University, about our years of experience working with police and other practitioners in various specialist fields of crime reduction.

The IJC will be publishing some special edited collections on this topic in the future. We are currently constructing a Professional Practitioner Advisory Board, of which Dato' Captain Razali Yaacob is a founding member.

Our aim is to bring practitioners and academics together via a series of regular international conferences to share their knowledge and to produce jointly authored peer reviewed articles on good practice in their expert fields of criminal investigation, criminal justice and crime reduction.

We welcome your comments regarding these articles, and our site in general.
